Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss

This is a diet that has been around since the Roman Empire. The health benefits from an Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss diet are well known and have been documented by many sources. The basics are pretty straight forward. The important thing is to make sure you get the Apple Cider Vinegar that is not pasteurized, filtered, or distilled. The best places to find this totally natural Apple Cider Vinegar is at a Health Food store like Whole Foods.

Some places have the Apple Cider Vinegar supplements in pill form but most experts discourage this due to other ingredients and not knowing if the correct fermentation methods were used for the Apple Cider Vinegar. And you never know if the proper dosage is attained (more on that later).

One of the reasons Apple Cider Vinegar been touted in recent times is a book from the late 1950s on natural remedies called "Folk Medicine: A Vermont Doctor's Guide to Good Health" by D. C. Jarvis. This book was a huge best seller and touted Apple Cider Vinegar to do many good things.

Besides the weight loss benefit, there are other very good reasons to use this type of vinegar for any cooking, food preparation, or other uses.

  • It aides digestion (although it does have acetic acid)
  • There is evidence it can help with glucose levels for diabetics
  • It's been found to help lower blood pressure in many people
  • There have been studies that show a reduction in cholesterol
  • It also has many of the good benefits of apples

The weight loss benefits are slow, don't expect over night success. There are a lot of stories out there by people who have raved about their successes in losing weight but for most it was not a quick solution. And many of these stories sound a little too good to be entirely true although they may have some merit.

There are two very popular methods to incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar into any weight loss program. The most common is to put two teaspoons of the vinegar in a glass of water and drink it before every meal. It has been shown in studies that this can reduce appetites and help in portion control. Of course you will need to carry your vinegar with you to be able to follow this type of diet.

The other popular method of using Apple Cider Vinegar for loss weight is to use it as an additive on salads, or other vegetables. Since it is a popular condiment, this is often more attractive to many people since it's easily incorporated into any meal. If you like the taste, it's not a problem but if you don't care for the vinegar flavor it might be a turn off.

There are also some cautions about using Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss diets. The level of acetic acid is high so if you have some issues with stomach acid (like acid reflux), this is definitely not for you. If you take other medication you certainly want to check to see if vinegar will interact in a negative way. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure there are no known issues before you start either method.

For most people it's probably a good healthy ingredient to include on a daily basis but like with any natural food you can over do it. It's always a good idea to start off slow and see if you have any issues. And don't go overboard with the amounts you take, two teaspoons at any meal or in any way should be sufficient to help in any weight loss efforts.

And you should also observe better eating habits with any diet. Throw in a little exercise and common sense in food selection. You could easily incorporate the Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss diet into any sensible weight loss program.
